Kim Sytsema started baking in her mom’s kitchen in Wyckoff NJ, when she was in high school. The demand at the family farm market, Abma’s Farm, for fresh baked goods was so great that a baking facility was built on the premises. After 15 years of commuting to Wyckoff from Sussex, where Kim and her husband Rich and their 4 children live, it was time for a change. Blessed with an opportunity they had only dreamed of, they opened the doors of Clove Brook Market in March of 2003. With the help of an awesome friendly staff, the Clove Brook has been awarded “Best Bakery” since 2007. Come see our commercial apple peeler, which helps make our famous fresh apple turnovers and pies possible. Try our famous Summer Smash or Winter Smash pie, English scones, and tender cookies from grandma’s recipe box.
Baking for the holidays is one of our favorite times of year! It’s high-energy here at the Clove Brook. We go through hundreds of pounds of fresh butter – you can taste the difference! All our holiday cookie recipes have been handed down through the generations. We offer over ten varieties of deliciously tender Christmas cookies, bars, cakes, scones and pies. We also offer Italian favorites such as cannoli, napoleons, cream puffs, éclairs and cheesecakes. It’s worth the trip!!!
